Computer Aided Design (CAD) Final Class Project

I used AutoCAD software to model each shape of the structure and the ball. I assembled the pieces and animated the infinite loop in 3DS Max then added sound effects in Adobe Premiere.
CAD Midterm: Lamp Design
For my midterm project, I decided to create a Chinese Lantern Inspired Lamp. I designed a lamp that has a hexagonal base featuring geometric patterned panels. The base has rectangular step detailing that is common in many traditional Chinese wooden lanterns, this detailing also allows for the power cord to be plugged in from any of the six faces. The base also has a holster that allows users to wrap the power cord around when not in use. The lightbulb is inserted on top of the base, inside the body of the lamp. The body has six faces with two different geometric pattern designs. Each panel has three sections where the top and bottom sections feature circular cutouts while the middle pattern features rectangular and triangular cutouts. These geometric designs are meant to allow the light to shine through them and create interesting patterns on the surrounding surfaces when lit. Lastly, the top of the lamp is a larger hexagonal piece that is a typical design in Chinese lanterns.
