Tufts Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) is a counseling service provided by Tufts University for students. Students can receive these services through the university’s insurance, an alternate private insurance, or through out of pocket payments, just like any other medical practice. CMHS is a heavily utilized university service whose resources are often strained due to lack of staffing. In addition, appointments are difficult to make since they have to be made over the phone or in person.
Our team's mission is to find a solution to streamline the CMHS appointment-making process, and to give instant access to CMHS’s information and other relevant and important mental health information. First we issued a survey, then conducted interviews, then created a prototype using the collected information. After creating the prototype, we conducted a usability test and made revisions to create our final high-fidelity mockup and prototype.
As the lead designer of this project, I was challenged with translating data from user research into intuitive UI flows and pleasing visuals to create a good app experience for our users.
